Last weekend we spent another long night grooving to the tunes in Danzatoria! Located in one of the most elegant parts of Barcelona, in Avenida Tibidabo, where the diplomats live, this 4-storey dance club is one of the prettiest houses on a street lined with a-lot-of-extremely-pretty-houses! The stunning building, even more so stunning after a half a bottle of Spanish vino tinto :-), belonged to Barcelona’s 19th-century bourgeoisie! It is impossible to get there without a taxi and, like all clubs in the city, you will be alone on the dance floor, or at the bar, if you arrive before midnight!! So, slightly tipsy and full of tapas, I piled into the taxi on Saturday night – or maybe it was Sunday already - with my best frock and my best mates. A taxi from the city centre to the club on the hilltop will cost around 15 euros, which is okay if you are sharing with 3 others. You need to look smart to get into the club, which is sometimes tricky if your male friends are wearing trainers. In that case, put on your sweetest smile and grab your mate´s hand with all the girls heading to the entrance first! Anything goes for the girls! If you don´t want to mix with Barcelona´s expat community, then this is perhaps not the club for you. The dance floors are often tightly packed with Scandinavians, Germans and the Dutch (or maybe that´s just my impression, as those are the languages I recognise). But I go there for the music and the dancing as well as the chic clientele and good-looking men! The music is great and there are several different dance floors. If you are short of cash for the rather expensive drinks (5 euros for a glass of Cava), or if you have had enough already, then you could just dance non-stop all night instead! There are four different ambiences and musical styles, a thousand-square-metre beautiful garden, a restaurant, a chill-out area, VIP lounges and fantastic views of Barcelona at night.
