Museu Etnològic

If you are interested of discovering our cultural past you should visit the Ethnological Museum  which is located in the very heart of the Montjüic Mountain in Barcelona. This museum exhibits cultural collections with origins from Spain, Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Oceania! It is a really interesting collection, which is worth seeing if you find yourself at a loss on a Sunday afternoon, or to break up a nice walk over the Montjüic park.

Despite the huge geographical spread of the origins of the items, everything is ordered thematically according to the cultural origins, showing the every day life of traditional societies throughout history. Some of the collections are from the colonial times but you can also find cultural collections from the 20th century.

In my opinion, if you have a cultural and anthropological interest, a visit to this museum is a must! Despite its relatively small size it contains a lot of curious details. For example, for me it gave me more insight into the daily life of the Catalan people living in this region some generations ago.

If you are interested in going, you can find this museum on the map. On their website you can also find their opening hours.
