WHAT WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR, CARNIVAL IS HERE!!!

February 19th, 2007

Hi everybody!!

I hope that most of you had the chance to go to Sitges last weekend! For those who didn’t, it’s not a problem…you have the last opportunity to go on Tuesday!! Without any doubt, it’s something you cannot miss if you are staying in Barcelona.

In my case, I decided to go on Saturday. Although it is not one of the big days of Carnival in Sitges (the important days are on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday), the party was totally amazing!!! The town was bursting at the seams; it’s incredible how many people were outside in the streets and inside the many pubs!! And obviously, most of the people were dressed up…me also ;)

I went to Sitges with some friends. We had a very nice dinner with some salad, pasta, meat and rosé wine. Then, we continued the evening having some cocktails…and all that in an apartment just in front of the sea. Amazing!!!! So, the time to dress up had arrived! My costume was quite funny…I was wearing flairs, a tight shirt with wide cuffs and a jacket. Also, I wore big glasses, an afro wig and a peace symbol around my neck! So, in general, we were dressed up as people in the seventies, but maybe with some differences. It was really funny, one of the best nights this year!! All the people were having a great time like me, dancing, singing, shouting and drinking in the streets…and I could also see some very original costumes. I saw everything, from animals such as flies or turtles to Eskimos, Samurais, Scuba divers and even Dr. House from the TV series, limping and using a cane!!!

You can imagine that the night was crazy!! We enjoyed it so much that we didn’t realise it was already 6 am!! So, we decided that it was enough for today and we walked home to the apartment…you know, if you drink, don’t drive ;)

See you on Tuesday!!!

/Iñaki
