February 28th, 2007
…And say goodbye to your split-ends! The English-speaking community in Barcelona may have several common fears and one of them is, without a doubt, finding a suitable hairdressers, without having to pay an arm and a leg (and half of your torso if you want a blowdry also)!
True Spanish hairdressers sometimes tot up your final bill in separate parts, according to whether you have received their shampoo, their conditioner, if you have drank a cup of their coffee, with or without a biscuit and then you are perhaps charged an extra 3 euros for a few particles of a spray that you were given no choice about in the first place!
So, panic spread with the closing of the Barcelona ‘Toni & Guy’ salon, which used to be located in the north of the city centre on ‘Diagonal’ and which was the popular favourite for all those inhabitants who are still learning Spanish and all who put their faith in the ‘Toni&Guy’ logo! But now we can all breathe a sigh of relief, thanks to the opening of a new salon by the former Barcelona ‘Toni & Guy’ team!!
Now Nenuca, Pedro, Jamie and their colleagues have set up their own hairdressers opposite the ‘Mercat del Born’ in the city centre. The name ‘Ribera 6’, is also the salon´s address, where you are guaranteed a great service, in a trendy and stylish place, with top-notch hair products!
The closest metro to the salon Ribera 6 is ‘Jaume I’ and the tel.no. is: +34 93 319 7559! So no more excuses, bad haircuts or split ends anymore!
For those who are really into splashing out, they have added beauty treatments such as massages, facials and manicures. So a visit to their salon may produce a shinier and brighter you! You can find another report here in the online magazine the ‘Metropolitan’.
