BARCELONA AND THE UNIVERSE
January 9th, 2007
Whenever I have the chance, I always try to visit the Science or Natural History Museum in a new city. All of the incredible things that are found in nature never cease to amaze me and I get absorbed in all of the different discoveries human kind has come up with so far but, most of all, these kind of museums remind me of how incredibly tiny and fragile our existence is in this huge universe!
A couple of months ago I went to a science museum here in Barcelona, called COSMOCAIXA.
It is a huge complex divided into different sections, where you can find, amongst other things, a planetarium, a real rainforest with huge fish swimming around like in a mini Amazonas, exhibitions about geology and biology, and also a section where people can carry out their own physical experiments.
During my visit they also had an exhibition consisting of photos taken of human neurons connecting with each other. Really amazing! It looked exactly like the images you can see of our galaxy! But it is right there in our heads!
If you have time, it is worth going to see it! If you go on the first Sunday of every month, the entrance is COMPLETELY FREE, otherwise it costs only 3 euros!
