ALL NIGHT LONG…
December 22nd, 2006If you still have doubts about where to go next summer to celebrate, for your holidays, your graduation, your time off work or school, your birthday or just to have a wonderful time, then think no longer! BARCELONA is the direction to choose! It’s great if you fancy culture, mountains, sports, shopping, relaxing, the beach and the sun. If you enjoy partying, then Barcelona is definitely the place to be.
The thing I really enjoy about Barcelona is that there is a huge variety of places to go to, which means that there are nice places for all tastes in music and there is a place to go for any mood you might be in! For instance, if you just want to have a good time in the evening and you don’t want to party ´til the early morning, then there are lots of different kinds of bars you can go to such as salsa bars, pubs, jazz bars, sports bars, tapas bars, cocktail bars and bars for dancing. Or, you can have dinner at one of the many great restaurants in the city centre and after go for a glass of sangria or cava in one of the city’s authentic Spanish bars.
Of course there are also a lot of clubs you can go to if you want to dance or to party through the night. In the city centre you can find lounge clubs, gay clubs, strip clubs, house clubs, urban clubs, rock clubs, beach clubs and many more There is an abundance of choices for every kind of music. There is a great single street with a huge number of different clubs and bars at the Olympic Port, near the famous twin towers, so if you are out for the whole night and you want to move from place to place, then I recommend you to be there! There is also a huge casino near by, so before going to the clubs you can give it a go and see if you get lucky!
And than you have the famous big discos and clubs like ‘Pacha’, ‘Catwalk’, ‘Otto Zutz’, ‘Razzmatazz’ and ‘Jamboree’ where you can go and party till the early morning. Most of these places have multiple areas in which DJ’s play different kinds of music. A lot of famous DJ’s like Roger Sanchez, Martin Solveig, Billy Nasty, David Guetta, usually play at these clubs!
For the die-hards, there are also a lot of legal and even illegal (sssshhhhhhh) afterbars to go after dancing all night. These bars stay open ´til around 8 or 9 o’clock in the morning and you can’t believe how crowded they still are at that time!
As you now know, you can make it as late and as crazy as you want in Barcelona!! I’ve recently had a couple of nights that started off with a quiet dinner and drinks at a restaurant and afterwards the evening simply turned to the following day! We visited different bars, cocktail bars and urban clubs until 3am and then at 4am we were off to one of the bigger discos - dancing to funky house music until 7am and then ending up in an afterbar until 9am. So then it is breakfast time and places to have breakfast in the city centre are opening – so, to finish the night perfectly, I most often order a big omelette with lots of cheese!
