A weekend in Barcelona

November 29th, 2006

A new weekend in Barcelona brings a new chance to see another area of the city, find more shops, visit new bars and make new friends. Or, if you have found a place you like, you can just plan a big night out. Last weekend I went for the first time in a long while to the club DANZATORIA, high on the hill close to Tibidabo. This is a truly spectacular club, built on 4 levels with different bars and different music styles on each floor. Many people go here, however, for the most amazing garden. Rather than to try to describe it, you can see the photos for yourself, on: www.danzatoria-barcelona.com. It is a dangerous place though, as entrance is often free, but the drinks are pricey. For cheaper cocktails you should stick to the hundreds of cocktail bars in the BORN area!

www.barcelona-tips.com is a comprehensive “travel book” of over 100 pages with street maps, transport maps, festival charts, essential phrases and much, much more! With invaluable travel tips and practical information for a safe, hassle-free and enjoyable visit to Barcelona, it might save you some time and money. Then, the only thing to do when you get here is to explore!

Why not spend an evening or Sunday afternoon at a Barcelona cinema? Along with the main Spanish cinemas on offer there, are several ‘art cinemas’ in Gracia, with films in the original languages, if your Spanish is not yet up-to-scratch! You can often see films here in Swedish, French and German, as well as English - perfect for the tourist or expat who wants a reminder of home!

Wow! really liked your post, I had no idea Barcelona was so much fun! is there anywhere else you could recommend a bit more central that you could walk to from the Ramblas!

Hello. I stumbled across your blog on fark.com, people were amazed by the tio de navidad. I envy people in living in Barcelona since I miss the place soo much. I studied at Barcelona U in 2003 and loved every minute of it. I lived on Parallelo near Plaza Espana. If you haven’t visited already, there are a few places where you have to check out the nightlife. One is La Musiqueta, its in the barrio gotico. My host brother loved the place so I hung out with him and his friends there a lot. Another place I referred to as the guitar bar. Its a little hole in the wall that has guitars that you can grab off the wall and play and the owner makes the best sangria. Its near the Picasso museum, I wish I could give you more details but its been a while. I will definitely be frequenting this site now that I have discovered it.
